Rim and face alignment calculation

In this training, we will focus on two dial rim - face alignment and how to accurately determine shaft positions using calculation and graphing procedures. Two dial indicators are used to determine the relative position of the movable shaft with respect to the stationary shaft. Negative values mean the foot is low, shims must be added.

Rim - Face Calculation Precautions. Ensure the rim and face dial indicator TIR s are properly determined from the dials prior to performing.

PRE- ALIGNMENT BAR SAG VERTICAL MISALIGNMENT HORIZONTAL MISALIGNMENT ALIGNMENT. This 2-day course begins with the fundamental principles behind shaft to shaft alignment and concludes with students conducting a series of alignment exercises using conventional alignment tools. Two methods will be covered: straight edge alignment , and rim and face alignment. Computerized alignment machines do this somehow if you check the rear wheel alignment.

In this method two dial indicator ( rim and face dial ) are used to determine the relative position of movable shaft with respect to stationary shaft. Formula for Face and Rim Alignment Calculation - as Word Doc (.doc), PDF File (.pdf), Text File (.txt) or read online for free. Reverse indicator method - by calculation 41.

Rim and face method - by calculation 38.

This method is usually used when laser alignment equipment is not available for use. This module teaches participants about the proper techniques for performing rim and face alignments. Learn vocabulary, terms, and more with flashcards, games, and other study tools. You can also use the App to convert dial indicator readings to laser readings. Most are interested in converting laser to dials so that is what we will do here.

Essentially, the fundamental principle of the reverse rim dial method and laser systems is to determine shaft position based on two different offset measurements ( rim readings) taken at two different points along the length of the shafts. It also is the only method that can be used when rotation of both shafts cannot be accomplished. The rim and face alignment method is commonly used where space considerations would prevent the use of the cross dial or reverse dial methods. This course begins with the fundamental principles behind shaft to shaft alignment and concludes with students conducting a series of alignment exercises using conventional alignment tools.

This is where the alignment specification needs to be met. Three Indicators method (solved Example): Draw a simple diagram in you alignment sheet to show how the dial indicators are fixe and the distances of inner and outer boards (IB, OB). Stationary and Adjustable machines.

Dial indicator readings: To ensure perfect alignment dial readings must be carefully recorded.

The rim indicator is used to measure offset misalignment. An important understanding required is the confident use of Dial Gauges. Description: This interactive training unit is designed to familiarize trainees with the basic principles associated with measuring and correcting shaft misalignment using the rim and face method. View the machine from the pump en zero the indicators on the left, and then rotate and read on the right. Make sure that you always view the pump from the same direction in order for you to keep the left and right directions correct.

DIY Precise Alignment (Toe-in): I had just finished installing all new tie rod ends on my car and was looking up how to get the alignment at least relatively close. Built in softfoot calculator 3) Accurate.
