Rccb circuit breaker

A residual-current device ( RCD ), or residual-current circuit breaker ( RCCB ), is a device that quickly breaks an electrical circuit to prevent serious harm from an ongoing electric shock. Injury may still occur in some cases, for example if a human falls after receiving a shock, or if the person touches both. It contains a switch device that switches off whenever a fault occurs in the connected circuit. ID-RCCB Residual Current Circuit Breakers up to 1A.

Current can flow in two different path, one is neutral and another one is earth. Residual current means flow of leakage current between live conductor to earth. The Residual Current Circuit breaker RCCBs are the safest device to detect and trip against electrical leakage currents , thus ensuring protection against electric shock caused by indirect contacts. These devices must be used in series with an MCB or fuse which protects them from the potentially damaging thermal and dynamic stresses of any over currents. As we know there are several types of miniature circuit breakers like MCCB which works on different operational principle and has different safety purposes.

So basically it will only break the circuit when there is a leakage current flowing to earth. The tripping time is such as to minimise the risk to human life. The circuit breaker is set at the capacity of the wires in the circuit it protects.

It is a current sensing device, which can automatically measure and disconnect the circuit whenever a fault occurs in the connected circuit or the current exceeds the rated sensitivity. The working principle of current earth leakage circuit breaker or RCCB is also very simple as voltage operated ELCB but the theory is entirely different and residual current circuit breaker is more sensitive than ELCB. Actually, ELCBs are of two kinds,. The RCCB can operate for the same fault conditions where ELCB operates.

But its method of operation or fault detection is entirely different from that of ELCB. What is ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) ELCB stands for “Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker” and it is used for protecting a person from electric shock and injury. The needs of these devices arise because of the number increasing in injuries as well as deaths because of electric shock. This possibility is identified by the following symbol on the rating plate.

Yueqing Shantuo Electrical Co. Residual Current Circuit Breaker ( RCCB ) is a mechanical switching device intended to make, carry and break currents under normal service conditions and to cause the opening of the contacts when the leakage current attains a given value under predefined conditions. Reputation is the first, quality is the priority. RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker ) A RCCB is an essential current sensing equipment used to guard a low voltage circuit from the fault. It comprises of a switch device used to turn off the circuit when a fault occurs in the circuit.
