Valve types

Production of Industrial Valves. What are the different types of gas valves? What type of valves are the aortic and pulmonic? Choke valve , raises or lowers a solid cylinder placed around or inside a second cylinder.

Diaphragm or Membrane valve , controls flow by.

Types of Valves Ball Valve. Ball valve is a quarter turn operated valve. Gate valve is a sliding type of valve. Similar to ball valves , plug valves are also quarter turn type of valves. Butterfly valves are most simple yet versatile valves.

It automatically varies the rate of flow based on signals it receives from sensing devices in a continuous process. Some valves are designed specifically as control valves. However, most types of valves can be used as control valves, both linear and rotary motion, by the addition of power actuators, positioners and other accessories.

Globe valve looks like a globe with a plug-type disc. It is part of the linear motion valve family. Similar to gate valve , globe valve disc moves up unobstructedly to allow the flow of media.

Linear motion valves used to start and stop flow. The valve is completely opened when the disk is removed from the flow stream. Classification of gate valves is made by the type of disk used: solid wedge, flexible wedge, split wedge, or parallel disk. Typically used for cooling water systems, transporting fuel oil and turbine lube oil systems, a globe valve is a linear motion valve used to stop, start and regulate flow. Many different types of manual valves are used in industrial applications worldwide.

A ball valve is a large metal valve usually featuring a lever handle. This is the type of valve often seen at the main water shutoff for the home. Anti vacuum valves: An automatic type of air valve preventing the formation of vacuum in tanks or pipelines. Blow down valves: A valve which is used for cleaning sludge from a boiler.

Free ball valves: A valve in which a ball is free to rotate in any direction. Like gate valves, a ball valve is designed as an all-or-nothing valve—they should be either fully open to allow full flow, or fully closed to stop all water flow. They are designed such that if the air supply fails, the control valve will be either fully open, or fully close depending upon the safety requirement of the process. Swing Check Valves are available in straight body design and y-pattern design.

TILTING DISK CHECK VALVE.

Tilting Disk Check Valves fit between two flanges. Wafer Type Check Valve has short face-to-face. Flexible Wedge Gate Valve. The flexible wedge is a one-piece solid disk with a cut around. Split wedge or Parallel disks Gate Valve.

Request More Information. A gate valve describes the mechanism by which the valve is opened and closed.
