Plant , مبردات الماء , محطات تبريد الماء ac units, chillers chiller toturials chilled water system الهندسة الميكانيكية. A typical chiller uses the process of refrigeration to chill water in a chiller barrel. This water is pumped through chilled water piping throughout the building where it will pass through a coil. While the upfront cost of a water chilled system can be a lot, the greater energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs usually make up for it.
In centrally located cooling systems , chilled water is the way used to extract the heat from the building coils to the refrigeration system.
This water is sent to the air conditioning load at a cold temperature , and returns to the chiller system from to 10°C hotter. The 1-pipe system is poorly suited to chilled water distribution for several reasons. The water quantity used in chilled-water systems is usually considerably higher than that used for heating because the unit coils work on smaller temperature differentials in the cooling mode than in the heating mode.
Water is cooled to a predetermined set-point that is set within the chiller itself. Systems that employ water chillers are commonly called chilled-water systems. When designing a chilled-wat er system , one of the first issues that must be addressed is to determine which type of water chiller to use.
This period discusses the primary differences in chiller types.
CHILLED WATER SYSTEM بس بشكل بسيط جدا يعنى ممكن. The CHW portion of the system circulates and flows between the chiller and the building loads through pumping by the CHW pump (although dependent upon the system , usually referred to as the primary pump), and can be operated as constant flow or variable flow. Primary-secondary system bypass sizing.
Water chillers are used in a variety of air conditioning and process cooling applications. They cool water that is subsequently transported by pumps and pipes. The water passes through the tubes of coils to cool air in an air conditioning system , or it can provide co oling for a manufacturing or industrial process. The evaporator is a heat exchanger 2. The condenser may air cooled or water cooled 4. There can be multiple chillers in a chw plant 4. Common design condition is supply water F ,return water F temperature difference F 2. Glycol is a freeze protection added to water when using chilled water or condenser water systems (like automotive anti-freeze). It is used in most applications where water lines are affected by cold ambient conditions.
The cooling tower for a chilled water system uses evaporative cooling to remove the heat from the condenser water. The water is channeled to the cooling tower where it is sprayed into the top of the cooling tower. The waterfalls down panels that have micro-channels and small holes.
The chilled water can be supplied by a vendor, such as a public utility or created at the location of the building that will use it, which has been the norm. While the chiller is the heart of a chilled water system , its support system of components and controls are equally critical to maintain and manage to ensure the highest system efficiency levels are attained. Emphasis is often placed on the chiller since it is the most visible and typically the highest energy element of a chilled water system.
Low return water temperatures. Robs chilled water from other coils at part load conditions. Increases flow in primary piping. Adds additional chillers on line. The “chilled water” leaves the evaporator at around 6°C (4°F) and is pushed around the building by the chilled water pump.
The chilled water flows up the height of the building to each floor in pipes known as “risers”. Chiller performance is reduced.
